From China: Chinese Boy’s Eye Gouged Out by Organ Trafficker
A six-year-old Chinese boy, Binbin, had his eyes gouged out in a gruesome attack allegedly by an organ trafficker.
According to a report from China Central Television as posted through Sina Weibo, Binbin was drugged and his eyes were removed after he lost consciousness.
"He had blood all over his face. His eyelids were turned inside out. And inside, his eyeballs were not there," Binbin's father told Shanxi Television reporters.
According to other local reports, Binbin's eyes were found nearby but apparently the corneas were already missing - this sparked the suspicion that an organ trafficker was behind the gruesome crime.
Sadly, Binbin, might be blind for life.
Binbin is a native of Linfen City in the mainland's Shanxi Province, according to a report from Xinhua. His mother said that Binbin went missing in Aug 24 while he was playing outside their home. Three to four hours later, he was found soaked in blood by relatives. Binbin had already testified that his abductor was a female who had a strange provincial accent.
Fortunately, Binbin is recovering and is given medical aid at Shanxi orthoptic hospital.
Professor Arthur Caplan, a spokesman for Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting told the Daily Mail that there is a large possibility that what happened to Binbin was something that only an organ trafficker can do.
"In-demand corneas for corrective eyesight operations can be taken from any age and body type. Anyone who knows where the corneas are located in the eye can extract them, and I fear for the unsterile conditions and the barbaric methods used, and that infection may add to [Binbin's] suffering." Mr Caplan said.
Binbin is the most recent victim of the rampant organ black market happening across China.
In August, reports revealed a group of black market organ sellers in Wuhan. There were also teenagers who sold their kidneys illegally just to spend for iPhones and iPads.
The Police Department has already announced a reward of 100,000 yuan to anyone who can help them arrest the culprit responsible for the cruel attack on Binbin.
