China has begun to mobilize its military in the perimeters of the Korean peninsula after North Korea has put an end to any form relationship with South Korea and instead, declared entering into a "state of war" on March 11, 2013. U.S. officials said that the Chinese People's Liberation Army has increased its presence on the border with North Korea.

According to a report by Russia Today, the Chinese army is at its highest readiness at "Level One." The troop movement has been observed since mid-March, with fighter jets preparation included, added the report.

South Korea has warned its longtime nemesis that it’s ready to meet any provocation from North Korea, vowing to defend itself amid recent threats. The new S.K. president also noted that while war is possible, it could also be highly “unlikely.” The United States, like it did sixty years ago, promises to protect its East Asian ally.

S.K. President Park Geun Hye has issued a statement following the declaration of the North that it has again entered into a “State of War” and President Park pointed out that the South has strong military response for any form of attacks.

The statement came amid reports that North Korea was “set to hold its annual session” and a day after the “rubber-stamp parliament” swore to preserve its right to nuclear weapons in law.

"I believe that we should make a strong and immediate retaliation without any other political considerations if (the North) stages any provocation against our people," the newly elected South Korean president said, according to news.com.au.

President Park has been in constant meeting and communications with senior military officials and with S.K. Defence Minister Kim Kwan Jin. Repords said that the new leader has been taking a stream of threats for the South for almost a month now, which officials reiterated are being taken of “very seriously.”

Meanwhile, the United States asserted to protect South Korea from any imminent threats from its longtime nemesis, the North. The United States has been the South’s ally since the 1950-1953 Korean War. The U.S. has continued to maintain its military facilities and has regularly conducted joint military exercises with the South for years.
