China Requires Universities to Teach Sex Education
College in China will never be boring as Education Minister Yuan Guiren has announced students will be required to take the psychology of love and sex as part of their general education.
The minister, speaking in front of the media, said the course will better equip college students the right knowledge in dealing with pressures in love and sex, which are both heightened in college life.
Yuan said the course will address the broad context of sexual psychology and physiology to prepare students for life, the Beijing Times reported.
Topics will include interpersonal skills and development, study and career planning, psychology of learning, interpersonal relationships, emotional management, stress management & coping with frustration, and psychology of love and sex.
At the end of the course, students will have thorough understanding of how pressure and frustration occur, and comprehensive knowledge of effective coping strategies
The report further said the love and sex education will be interactive with role playing, diversified lectures, case studies, and other related classroom activities.
