Chloe Murphy's Babysitter Could Face Charges
The nanny of Chloe Murphy, the baby who died mysteriously, could face charges over the tragedy.
Baby Chloe died a year ago, just seven weeks before her first birthday. Detectives waited for final medical reports before moving on with the case.
Chloe's parents, Kat and Tony, have declined to speak publicly and could not be contacted, reported the Herald Sun.
The Murphy couple left Chloe with babysitter Ketapat Jenkins, while they went to the movies on the night of December 3 last year.
Mrs. Jenkins had told the Herald Sun in an exclusive interview the day after Chloe died that the baby was not well when she was dropped off at her home. She said Chloe kept crying and she seemed "tense." When the couple came back, Mrs. Jenkins told the Herald Sun she insisted for the couple to take Chloe to the hospital.
Chloe was taken to the Royal Children's Hospital, but is believed to have lost consciousness soon after and died two days later, reported the Sun.
Initial findings pointed to bleeding to the brain --due to a hairline skull fracture -- as the cause of death. But medical reports later revealed other injuries, including a broken arm.
Authorities have completed filing appropriate reports last week to decide whether or not there is sufficient evidence to support charges against the babysitter. A decision is expected soon.
