According to the Royal Thai Police, the two, named by CNN as Ryan Edward McPherson and Daniel Jamon Tanner, stole the body parts from a hospital musuem. The dean of the Sriraj Hospital in Bangkok confirmed that the pair visited the hospital's Medical Museum, also known as the Museum of Death, which has on its exhibit body parts of victims of murder and other heinous crimes.

One of them previously claimed he bought the chopped body parts of the baby for $100 at a night flea market in Bangkok, but said he could not remember the market's location.
When X-rays on Saturday found that DHL parcel labelled as toys actually had chopped body parts of a baby such as the head, foot and heart, the DHL employees contacted authorities who arrested one of the men.
A 31-year-old man was arrested by Bangkok police, but was released later after four hours of interrogation because the authorities were unsure what laws would apply to him, according to Col Adisorn Sensawat, the police chief of Bang Pongpang.
On Monday, the hospital's closed circuit TV footage showed McPherson and Tanner inside the museum, which provided the police sufficient evidence to secure an arrest warrant, but by then it was too late because the pair had fled to neighbouring country Kampuchea. The duo left through a checkpoint in the eastern part of Thailand.
However, Thai Police said they plan to request the extradition of the two Americans from the U.S. Embassy.
