Chris Bosh, Kevin Durant Named Players of the Week
Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Kevin Durant and Miami Heat power forward Chris Bosh were named NBA players of the week, the NBA announced on Monday.
Durant, three-time scoring champion, ignited the Thunder to a 3-0 slate this week as averaged 32 points on .574 shooting, 10.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists. He also knocked down 9 of his 16 shots from the three-point line and is stroking .426 from beyond the arc.
The absence of Russell Westbrook did not prevent Durant from coming up with big numbers as the Thunder continue to lurk in the upper echelon of Western Conference elites.
Meanwhile, Bosh received the Player of the Week for the first time since 2010, when he was still playing for the Toronto Raptors. The Heat All-Star big man averaged 22.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.75 blocks and 1.25 steals per game. On December 28, he posted 37 points and 10 rebounds and knocked down the game winning three-point jumper to give the Heat a 108-107 victory in Portland.
