Chris Brown could be facing jail time in his immediate future. The hot-tempered singer, who infamously beat then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, is under investigation for hit-and-run.

The 24-year-old singer was involved in a simple fender bender earlier this week, but is now being investigated for hit-and-run, according to TMZ.

According to the report, he rear-ended another vehicle, but refused to give the driver his driver's license number. Not only did he display an attitude when the woman pressed him for his ID, he also gave her incorrect insurance information.

If he is found at fault, he would be in violation of his probation, which stemmed from his assault case in 2009. He is currently on probation for beating Rihanna, and one of the conditions of his probation is to obey the law.

It would be deemed as breaking the law is he left the traffic scene without fully disclosing information. And if he is found guilty, he could be sentenced to four years in prison.

But Chris is adamant that he did nothing wrong, claiming that the other driver is in fact the one who has been ignoring his calls.

According to TMZ sources, he gave the driver all correct info during the minor road accident. And when his lawyer attempted to contact her, she hung on him. Chris hasn't been contacted by the Los Angeles Police Department yet.

Chris recently broke up with Rihanna after dating on-off for years. He is now believed to be living together with Karreuche Tran, the girl he dated during the times he wasn't with Rihanna.
