One of the famous Australian actors, Chris Hemsworth has cemented his name as one Hollywood's bankable actor as he got the coveted title role, Thor. After he got the role for Marvel Studios film in 2011, Hemsworth's showbiz career is never been better as this year opens another chapter in his life.

Born in Melbourne, Australia the "Heart of the Sea" actor jumpstarted his career when he starred in the film "Cabin in the Woods" and from there he was casted as "Thor" and the rest is history.

January - Chris and his brother Liam was seen shirtless for surf session in Costa Rica. The brothers were joined by some friends during as they spend the time under the sun.

February - The 29-year-old actor and his wife Elsa Pataky brought their daughter India Rose to a doctor in Brentwood, Calif (Feb. 12). The actor is allegedly to star in an Untitled Michael Mann thriller but details about the project are still being kept under wraps. On Feb. 20, the actor suits up to attend the 2013 Foxtel Launch held at Fox Studios in Sydney, Australia. The actor was joined by fellow Australian, Sam Worthington and model Jennifer Hawkins as they serve as special guests.

March - Hemswoth is reshooting for "Thor: The Dark World," alongside Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins. The upcoming movie is set to hit theaters on Nov. 8. Also in this month, the actor is set to be returning as the huntsman with Kristen Stewart in the sequel to "Snow White and the Hunstman" on 2015, in the month "Thor: The Dark World" teaser was released. By the end of April, Chris and co-star Tom Hiddleston who play as Loki in the movie "Thor" attended the "Iron Man 3" premiere.

May - Chris' wife shows off her bikini body on the cover of Women's Health magazine's June 2013 issue.

June - Chris and family was out for Malibu getaway on June 4. During the recent Comic Con, "Man of Steel" actor Henry Cavill asked for the actor's advice for playing superhero and he said: "Don't worry about it. The fans are a lot more supportive than you think. They're behind you the whole way, so just enjoy it." Chris was hard at work as he shoots his latest film "Cyber" in Los Angeles, an action thriller to be released in 2014.

July - "Rush" limited release was announced, the released is scheduled to hit the theaters on Sept. 20 and its national debut will come a week later as reported by LA Times.

August - Chris graces the cover of Esquire magazine September 2013 issue.

September - Chris hits the red carpet with his brother Liam and Luke at the premiere of "Rush" held during the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, Sept. 8. By Sept. 16 the actor arrives for his taped appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" in Burbank, Calif.

October - Chris graced another magazine cover and this time for Details magazine November 2013 issue. Hemsworth attends "Thor: The Dark World" premiere held at the Odeon Leicester Square (Oct. 22) in London, England, and its Berlin, Germany premiere (Oct. 27).

November - "Thor: The Dark World" premiere in Hollywood. Chris and his wife confirmed that they are expecting their second child.

December - The actor announced that he is going to take a break from his acting career. "I've been working solidly for a couple of years now, to the point where I have to slow down and spend some time with my family" says the Australian actor. Chris completed his work on "Cyber" and is currently working on the "In the Heart of the Sea." But rest will come when the actor is done with his commitments as she is set to star on the upcoming film "The Avengers: Age of Ultron."
