Chris Hemsworth Named 'The Sexiest Man' Alive By People
Chris Hemsworth has been named the "Sexiest Man Alive" by People's magazine. The "Thor" actor was reportedly pitted against Chris Pratt and Neil Patrick Harris for the title. The actor has fulfilled all the requirements for winning the coveted crown, including a muscular photo shoot and a series of interesting interviews.
The magazine reportedly looks for juicy details in the interviews and Hemsworth has given a lot, especially about his romantic life, according to USA Today. The actor attributes his sexiness to Matt Damon. "I learned everything there is about being sexy from Matt," the "Avengers" star said to Jimmy Kimmel on his show.
After the actor was bestowed with the title, he phoned into the Kimmel's show and thanked Matt and "all the other previous intelligent men." Chris also spoke about his brother Liam Hemsworth and called him a "team player." The "Hunger Games" actor is reportedly not jealous of his brother.
"We've been throwing sexy looks back and forth all week," Chris said about his brother, as quoted by People. The actor also paid gratitude to his parents. Last year's title for "Sexiest Man Alive" was given to Adam Levine.
Other celebrities who have won the title in the previous years include Channing Tatum (2012), Johnny Depp (2003 and 2009), George Clooney (1997 and 2006), Matt Damon (2007), Matthew McConaughey (2005), Ben Affleck (2002) and Brad Pitt (1995 and 2000).
Chris Hemsworth is married to Elsa Pataky. He began dating the Spanish actress in 2010 and exchanged vows with her in the same year. They have three children together, namely, India Rose, Tristan and Sasha.The 31-year-old actor rose to prominence with the film "Thor." He played the lead role alongside Tom Hiddleston, who played Loki. Chris will reprise his role as Thor in 2017's "Thor: Ragnarok." The actor will also be seen in the much-anticipated movie of 2015, "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
Furthermore, Chris will be playing the main role of Owen Chase in Ron Howard's biographical thriller film "In the Heart of the Sea." The film is based on a book with the same title.
