Actor Chris Klein, who became popular with the film "American Pie", got arrested early Wednesday morning for driving under the influence of alcohol, an official said.

Officer Patrick Kimball from the California Highway Patrol said that Klein was arrested at around 3:15 am after his black 1999 Chevrolet Blazar was spotted drifting across three lanes of traffic on the westbound 101 Freeway at Woodman Avenue. He was booked at the Los Angeles Police Department's Van Nuys station for driving under the influence of alcohol but was discharged without bail.

The American movie actor is best known for his role as Chris "Oz" Ostreicher in the 1999 film "American Pie" and its sequel "American Pie 2".

He also appeared in the movie "Election" and has since gained the eye of Hollywood. He has also appeared in other movies and on television.
