Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper Are Doing The "American Hustle" (With Photos)
David O. Rusell's upcoming drama film the "American Hustle" is set to be released on December 25, 2013 with its powerful cast of hollywood stars. Originally titled "American Bullsh*t", this movie was written by Eric Warren and was on the number 8 on the 2010 blacklist which could be Ben Affleck's directorial debut.
Based on the true story of FBI ABSCAM operation, "American Hustle" trailer was released on July 31, 2013 showcasing its five main characters played Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner, Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams. Robert De Niro is also in the film playing as Victor Tellegio.
Featuring Led Zeppelin's "Good Times, Bad Times", the film's teaser is an entertaining piece of pop culture time travel as it features a lot of skin, glam and glitz of the 80's. The groovy trailer looks faintly like Scorsese's Ocean's 11, but in a good way with all cash, sex and swagger.
Russel picked the lead players from his two previous films, "The Fighter" and "Silver Linings Playbook" where these actors got an Oscar nod for their portrayals. Christian Bale is playing Irving Rosenfeld, a brilliant con artist who is forced to work to work along with the FBI together with his unpredictable wife Rosalyn Rosenfield played by Jennifer Lawrence.
Amy Adams was reunited with director David O. Russel and co-star Christian Bale after "The Fighter" to play as Sydney Prosser, Irving's cunning partner in crime and mistress. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence also made a reunion after "Silver Linings Playbook" as he plays Richie DiMaso, a wild FBI agent who recruited Irving on the sting operation.
Jeremy Renner plays the passionate Mayor of Camden, New Jersey as Carmine Polito who is caught between the con-artists and the FBI. It was Rosalyn who pulled the string that brings the entire world crashing down as the Feds trying to with the cons in a movie where Russell tries to defies the genra with life and death stakes.
The movie started its production on March 8, 2013 focusing on its principal photography and wrap it up in May 2013. Filming locations includes Worcester, New York and Boston, Massachusetts; but filming had to be put on hold due to Boston Marathon Bombing and wrapped it up in Boston when the lockdown was lifted.
