It seems like break-up week in Hollywood these days with Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman announcing their own split up, coming in the heels of another Hollywood couple David Arquette's and Courtney Cox's separation.

"Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever," Christina Aguilera said in a statement.

Christina's statement confirmed previous reports that the Aguilera and Bratman couple had separated. The media also said that no divorce proceedings has yet been initiated.

UsMagazine.com quoted a source as saying that Aguilera and Bratman had been separated for a few months now and is now living apart.

"They were very much in love. But over the last six months, it became clear they were more like friends than husband and wife," the source told the magazine, further adding that Aguilera had even "proposed their August trip to Italy to rekindle their relationship.

Apparently, the August trip did not work.

Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman married in 2005. They have a two-year old son, Max.
