Barely two weeks after Christina Aguilera made the shocking headlines following her arrest for drunk driving with boyfriend, Matthew Rutler the singer appeared for the first time to promote her upcoming show.

Aguilera is one of the judges for “The Voice” a singing competition created by NBC.

“We’re only able to be seen through the microscope of the media and what people gossip about,” Christina said, according to UsMagazine.

And this, Christina added should not stop any artist to continue giving his best and showing what he can do.

Christina said, “You take the good with the bad. It’s by telling our stories, sharing our experiences and really giving a first hand look at us as human beings [that shows] who we really are apart from what we seem to be.”

The singer expresses optimism on her new show saying it differs from other competition on how the contestants will be treated.

Christina explained, “ ‘The Voice’ isn’t about tearing people down. I want to bring people up. I want to empower them and give them all the tools I had. I love that I get to be a part of that.”

The singer added that as a judge, she is not looking for ‘vocal acrobatics’ but she hoped o be taken by those with ‘raw talent'.
