Christina Applegate is pregnant with her first child with musician fiance Martyn Lenoble.

The actress' representative confirmed she is expecting and the couple are said to be "thrilled" with the news.

The 38-year-old Samantha Who? Star and bass player Martyn, 41, got engaged on Valentine's Day this year. A date for the big day is yet to be revealed.

The TV star was reported earlier this year to be keen to start a family with Martyn.

"What's next? Babies, lots of babies. Well, not lots of babies, but a couple," she said.

Christina has also previously credited her fiancé for helping her battle breast cancer in 2008.

"I have a small but mighty support system and Martyn has really been an incredible part of my life," said Christina, who had to undergo a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with the disease.

"Without him, I don't know if I could've gone through any of it. He came around at a time when there was a lot of loss in my life on many levels, so he's been a really incredible help."
