BBC1's 'Doctor Who'- 'The Time of the Doctor'

Making a return in a thrilling episode is the classic sci-fi show "Doctor Who" in its 50th year of broadcast. After its successful special 50th anniversary episode "The Day of the Doctor" the show will be showcasing "Doctor Who" Christmas Special Episode "The Time of the Doctor" on BBC1.

The show is taking a much anticipated turn and will feature Peter Capaldi's regeneration as 13th generation doctor.

Also, coming back are some of the most dangerous creatures of the universe which includes Weeping Angels, Daleks, Cybermen on the planet speculated to be Trenzalore.

BBC1's Sherlock Season 3

Yet another much anticipated show that is making a return during the festive season is Sherlock Season 3. It is the year's one of the most anticipated shows and will be returning with its Sherlock Season 3 Episode 1 "The Empty Hearse" on Jan. 1, 2014.

When Sherlock makes a return, many questions will be answered. The answer to one mystery that fans are looking forward eagerly to, is related to the jump that he took from St. Bart's Hospital. Also, Sherlock will discover that John Watson is married to Mary Morstan who will become the "third wheel" in the story.

BBC1's "Strictly Come Dancing"

ITV's 'Downtown Abbey'

ITV's "Downtown Abbey" will showcase two hour of special episode, set in summertime. There is a lot of drama that is expected to happen in its Christmas 2013 episode. Also, fans are expecting answers to the questions that were left unanswered at the end of season 4.

BBC1's 'Call The Midwife'

BBC1 has also lined up "Call the Midwife" for its Christmas schedule which is expected to have a wedding in store and an unexploded bomb. Along with that, Nonnatus House is closed down and its residents will find a new place to live in.

EastEnders' Christmas Special Episode has something exciting for the residents of Albert Square. The storyline of this episode focuses on the show's character Janine Butcher.
