Australia Post launched a world's first - the VIDEO STAMP - to provide its customers with an innovative yet still a personal way to greet loved ones for the Christmas season - even if their miles and miles apart.
Richard Umbers, executive general manager, Parcel & Express Services at Australia Post, said that Video Stamp is the company's answer to customers' evolving Christmas gift-giving behaviour.
"Video Stamp is an innovation we giving our customers to help them reach out to their friends and family during the busiest time of the year. Nowadays people communicate through so many different means and our products are continuing to evolve to meet those changing needs - be they digital, physical, or in the case of Video Stamp, both. This year, Video Stamp will help shrink the tyranny of distance and deliver your Christmas wishes in person," Mr Umbers stated.
The world's first Video Stamp from Australia Post is part of the company's launch of its national advertising campaign.
Truly, Video Stamp caters to both the digital and the physical aspect of the Christmas gift giving season as the app was created to be shared via social media or email.
How to
Download Australia Post Video Stamp app. Post an item of choice via Australia Post Web site. Record a personal message of 15-second long (maximum) within 12 hours of posting an item. Videos can be viewed for 90 days from the date it was recorded. To save or view the videos timelessly, users can download them to their personal devices.
Each video stamp has a personal QR code that can be attached to a video to any domestic Express Post of Express Courier International package purchased Australia Post Retail stores.
If you are the one at the receiving end of a Video Stamp, download the Australia Post Video Stamp app and then scan the Video Stamp. Even without a smartphone, Video Stamp can be viewed through a PC.
For those who still prefer the traditional and classic stamps, Australia Post had launched two stamps depicting Virgin Mary and Christ Child and Shepherds and Shepherds adoring the Christ Child. These traditional stamps were based on a painting by Australian artist Paul Newton.
