With the successful Big Day Out performance in January, English trio Muse is prepping up for an ambitious Australian tour to date. The band is said to perform in Brisbane this December.

Muse is composed of Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme. They are considered to have made it big in the music industry since their launch in 1999. They now have five albums and a reputation as a live act not to be missed.

The Resistance, Muse's fifth studio album, went to number one and gained fame on several music festivals in the world, including Coachella and Glastonbury events.

"Even when we were playing pubs and clubs, people would say to me the music had an epic quality to it," Mr Bellamy said.

"Then, when you get to a certain level, like arenas, when you get into that environment, people expect something more.

"So I think you can pull all the stops, 'cos you've got literally 20,000 people, they can hear you and they can see you, but you want to throw some balloons at 'em as well!"

Muse is scheuled to perform at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on December 5.
