Batman director Christopher Nolan is following the footsteps of Stephen Spielberg, George Lucas and Peter Jackson as he attempts to dabble in making a video game based on his most recent thriller Inception.

In the movie, Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio plays Dom Cobb, a specialized spy or corporate espionage thief who secretly extracts valuable commercial information from the unconscious mind of his targets while they are asleep and dreaming.

Now, Nolan is working with a team of collaborators to make a new video game out of Inception. The director had said that he always wanted to try his hands in the gaming world.

"I always imagined Inception to be a world where a lot of other stories could take place. At the moment, the only direction we're channeling that is by developing a video game set in the world," Nolan told Entertainment Weekly.

Inception has been both critically and commercially successful. Recently at the 15th Annual Satellite Awards, the film garnered 11 nominations, including Best Drama. As of Novermber, it has grossed $292,086,685 in the United States and Canada and $531,082,239 overseas.

In total, the film has grossed $823,168,924 worldwide so far. It is the third 2010 film that reached the $800-million mark worldwide. In terms of overseas earnings, Inception is the third picture this year that crossed the $500-million mark.
