Clay Jensen from Netflix's '13 Reasons Why'
If you've watched Netflix's “13 Reasons Why,” you may know who Clay Jensen is. The character, who is close to the protagonist Hannah Baker, is played by Dylan Minnette. The 20-year-old actor has portrayed a high-school student who is emotionally distraught after losing his friend to suicide.
Minnette previously acted in various other television series but his honest portrayal of Clay in the adaptation of Jay Asher's YA novel is remarkably applauded. The actor apparently has a huge fan following among girls, and his Instagram posts has received plenty of likes from girls who claim to have a crush on him.
The actor hails from Evansville, IN, but when an agent found him in Chicago, he started getting work then later shifted to Los Angeles by the age of seven. He worked in “Alexander and the Terrible,” “Horrible" and “No Good, Very Bad Da” with actress Kerris Dorsey, who also happens to be his girlfriend since 2014. He has done small roles in a few popular TV series like “Grey's Anatomy,” “Supernatural,” and “Scandal,” apart from starring in movies like “Don't Breathe” and “Goosebumps.”
The actor is keen on doing another season of “13 Reasons Why.” "I think that everyone would love to do another one, if we're given the opportunity," he told Entertainment Tonight in a previous interview. "I think when people see where it leaves off, people are going to want to know more about these characters and what's next for them. There is a possibility." Other people who are keen on the season 2 of the series include Katherine Langford, who played Hannah Baker, and also the show's executive producer Selena Gomez.
Minnette is popular among his co-stars. Langford called him a “fantastic” guy in an interview and said that he is very much like his on-screen character of Clay in terms of being “generous, fantastic, kind, and courteous.” He is not only an actor but also a singer and guitarist in his band The Narwhals. According to Pop Sugar, the band has played at popular places in Los Angeles like The Roxy's and also won several awards. Check out his YouTube video below.
