Belgian Kim Clijsters upset Li Na’s dream to be the first Chinese and Asian female player to own the Grand Slam title at the Australian Open tennis tournament over the weekend.

Crushing Li Na at the final match at Rod Laver Arena with 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory, all hopes for the Chinese ace from Wuhan has disappeared into thin air.Li had been playing very aggressively at the Aussie Open charging her to the final match against the Belgian ace, but the Clijsters did not give her a chance to claim the title.

According to The Guardian, Clijsters Australian Open 2011 grand slam title is her fourth, an additional to her three wins in the U. S.

Clijsters was quick to admit that she might try other major events in the game after Australian win, though it was not entirely part of her earlier plans.

''I also would like to try and keep going until the Olympics. I've never played the Olympics, which is in a little under a year-and-a-half. And then we'll see after that,” Clijsters said, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

''When I started, started again, I kind of had the Olympics in my mind. I wanted to try to keep going till then. [But] I obviously never expected things to be going so well so quickly. I thought it was going to take a little bit more time to get back into the rhythm or get back into my routine of travelling with a family and everything.''

Admitting that she has not really outlined her immediate plans after the Australian tennis tournament, Clijsters said that she may continue with her game.

''I'm not going to sit here and be like, 'no, that wouldn't be nice','' she was quoted as saying by The Sydney Morning Herald. ''But, to be honest, I really haven't thought about it. It's a little early to already think ahead.

''But, obviously, the French is a grand slam where I would like to do well, as well. All of them, of course. But, again, yeah, I'm just excited that I won this one,' she added,

Following her victory, Clijsters was seen celebrating her victory in an early morning stroll with husband and the doubles-playing twin brothers, Bob and Mike Bryan.
