Veteran actor and director Clint Eastwood has recently penned a contract to direct the fourth version of A Star is Born featuring Beyonce as the lead female character.

According to Aceshowbiz, Clint will be working with the script provided by Will Fetters, who also wrote Remember Me in 2010.

No male charater has been named yet but Aceshowbiz said Warner Bros is rooting for Will Smith to pair with Beyonce. Other names that have come out as possible lead actors include Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Hamm.

A Star is Born is developed by Warner Bros. The fourth version is set to present a contempary version of the love affair between a failing and alcholic male star and a young female artist who is finding her way to stardom. The project according Aceshowbiz is scheduled to begin in fall.
