The 47th Annual Country Music Awards was a complete package of celebration of good music where country superstars from around the country gathered to commemorate another year of Country Music Awardees for New Artist, Vocalist of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Music Event of the Year, Pinnacle of the Year, Song of the Year and Single of the Year.
This year's CMD is hosted by country superstars Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, the show was aired at 8/7c on ABC, Nov 6. The whole show is a spectacle with countless special moments including Taylor Swift and Keith Urban dancing to Darius Rucker's hot Wagon Wheel, while the rest of the audience are in the party mood dancing in his tune and singing the song's popular lyrics.
This year's performers are star studded and that includes Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Jason Mraz, Tim McGraw, host Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and husband Blake Shelton, The Band Perry, George Strait, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban. The various awards are presented by Lee Brice, Sheryl Crow, Lucy Hale, Robin Roberts and Jake Owen and Kip Moore.
The biggest winner in today's award is couple Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert who got five nominations each. At the end of the awards night, both of them won Vocalist of the Year and Shelton's "Based on a True Story" won Album of the Year.
Country-star-turned-pop princess Taylor Swift is also one lucky lady. Out of six CMA nominations, she took home the Pinnacle Award, Music Video of the Year and Music Event of the Year with fellow country star Keith Urban. Swift is a seven-time Grammy winner and she was also nominated as Entertainer of the Year, the only female to be nominated for the night's most coveted award four times in a row from 2009 to 2013.
She won twice, but this year, country legend George Strait took home the award beating Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton. The new artist of the year is new-comer Kacey Musgraves. She took the award beating rising country stars Lee Brice, Brett Eldredge, Florida Georgia Line and Kip Moore.
