Is CNN anchor Anderson Cooper about to become a daytime talk show?

The Hollywood Reporter in an exclusive inside look to Cooper's imminent career change says that the anchor is in talks with Telepictures Productions and Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution for a project that is targeted for launch in fall next year.

The project is yet to be named, but The Hollywood Reporter thinks that "project will not have a hard-news focus, though given Cooper's background." Cooper is likely to bring a more journalistic approach to presenting popular topics as compared with most daytime fare like Oprah and Tyra Banks.

"The show is billed as a topical format that will cover everything from celebrities and pop culture to social issues and wide-interest news stories," reports the web site.

Anderson Cooper currently hosts "Anderson Cooper 360" in CNN. For more information on this development, visit The Hollywood Reporter.
