COD news: ‘Call of Duty Infinite Warfare’ hints unique weapons, ‘Call of Duty Black Ops 3’ Descent DLC details coming in stream
“Call of Duty Infinite Warfare” is going fully into science and space territory. Developer Infinity Ward has shared a few insights on how this will be reflected in the type of weapons that it will feature.
In an interview with Gamingbolt, the developer shared that the weapons will be energy-based, transforming the depth in which advanced weapons have become available to the franchise. What this means is that Infinity Ward is bringing in new weapons, while also transforming older weapons and mixing them into a more strategic arsenal that matches energy weapons.
“The energy weapons each have their own uses and functions. But one of the things we’re really excited about are some of our advanced sights which allow the player to do things, like a shotgun they’ll be able to manipulate where their pellets are going to go,” said Infinity Ward’s Brian Horton.
While COD fans are waiting for the next title, the newest expansion’s map have been showcased in a new video. Spotted by PlayStation Lifestyle, the video shows the Rumble map, which is the last one to be shown off for the DLC.
The Rumble map will feature mechanised warriors, which players will have to face in an arena. This is a small to medium map that caters to a high-speed combat experience. Since there is a main stadium, players can also make use of the tight corners that run throughout the stadium. The arena itself features obstacle-like structures within the stage. The video even showcases areas that are outside of the actual arena.
“Call of Duty Infinite Warfare” will be available on Nov. 4 on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. For this month, fans can check out the Descent expansion for “Call of Duty Black Ops 3,’ set to arrive on the PS4 first on July 12. Later on, Xbox One and PC players will get it a month later.
