Coffee May Help Prevent Stroke Risk
Two cups of coffee in an everyday consumption may prevent the harmful risk of stroke.
According to The Daily Mail, an analysis of benefits of coffee was made. It found out that it is indeed a great weapon to battle stroke which is one of Britain's biggest killers.
The said analysis incorporated the systematic review and meta-analysis of 11 previous studies that have inquiries whether coffee can cut the risk of stroke. It found that, compared with people who drank none or minimal coffee, those who drank moderate amounts (between two and six cups a day) had a lower risk of having a stroke.
The health website NHS.uk. said that although "the review was well-conducted, but is limited by the fact that there were several major differences between the individual studies. Also, the participants were only asked about their coffee consumption once at the start of the study and then followed for up to 20 years. Many studies have investigated whether or not coffee has health effects, some finding it to be beneficial, and others harmful. Although this research found an association between coffee and stroke, it does not confirm that drinking coffee reduces the risk of stroke.
"The study was carried out by researchers from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden. Funding was provided by the Swedish Council for Working Life and Social Research and the Karolinska Institute. The study was published in the peer-reviewed American Journal of Epidemiology.
