Cold Rock Ice Creamery is introducing new hot desserts to its menu across stores in Victoria and South Australia to beat the winter chill.

The ice cream franchise will trial three new products - Nana's Rocking Apple Pie, Chocolate Rocker cake drizzled with hot chocolate fudge and Sticky Date Pudding with hot caramel fudge, all served with two scoops of ice cream.

Cold Rock business support manager Maree Rogers said the products are being rolled out across the 27 stores.

"This is a trial but potentially it could be rolled out for longer depending on the response from customers," Ms Rogers said.

"These will be high quality products which complement our existing menu and offer customers who aren't keen on an ice cream during the cooler months a warm alternative.

"We have chosen the southern states for a trial given their cooler weather but potentially we could also roll this out across Cold Rock stores nationally."

The desserts will sell for $8.50 each.

"All three desserts are quite indulgent which is what people want in winter," Ms Rogers said.

"Cold weather can mean slow ice cream sales, but our goal is to maintain consumer interest in our products through continued product innovation."

Owned by Melbourne-based Franchised Food Company (FFCo), Cold Rock has almost 100 stores nationwide and is based on the ‘create your own' experience of adding fruit and confectionery mix-ins to your favourite ice cream flavour.

FFCo also plans to expand Cold Rock's mix-in offerings using products from its latest acquisition Nutshack, the leading Australian retailer of nuts, confectionery and dried fruits.
