Aussie fans would have to wait a little longer for Coldplay to serenade Sydney as the band announced that they will be postponing their tour in the Land Down Under due to "personal reasons."

Australian fans are surely disappointed that the British band Coldplay who is set to perform in Sydney for their mini-tour next week in two intimate concerts - for Sunrise and 2Day FM - on February 16 and 17, underwritten by Chinese telco Huawei Mobile. However, for "personal reasons," the band decided to postpone their performance.

In a statement, the band expressed, "We sincerely apologise to our Australian fans for having to postpone next week's scheduled trip. We miss you guys and we promise we'll make it up to you. In fact, stay tuned for a big announcement soon."

The announcement will surely include details of their planned 2012 Australian tour.

According to some sources, the group decided to postpone their mini-tour to give themselves more time to rehearse and prepare for their upcoming performance for the Brit Awards on February 21.

The band last visited Australia on March 2009 and performed Fix You live in Australia on March 14th 2009 for the "Sound Relief" benefit concert at the Sydney Cricket Ground. During their performance, Chris Martin ran into the crowd until the rest of the performance. Watch the video of the said performance below.
