Coldplay's new single out on June 3rd
English rock superstars, Coldplay, has announced on their website the release of a new single called "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall". The song will be globally available for download on June 3 (including Australia), and June 4 on UK. This song is the band's latest release after their 2008 record Viva la Vida and Death or All His Friends and the first singe out of their upcoming 2011 studio record.
The Grammy-winning 4-piece is currently playing shows around Europe, with an appearance at Germany's most celebrated music fest Rock Im Park this week where the new single is set to be played. The whole duration of the song is to be streamed on the same day of the realease, but fans are excited as lyric teasers are being posted on YouTube as early as now. Along with the videos, the band posted lyrics of the song in their website and it seems like they're right on track with their new album's persona as "more intimate" and "personal". "I'd rather be a comma than a full stop," writes front man Chris Martin who's responsible for penning the words of their memorable hits Yellow, Fix You, and Trouble.
Since their debut album Parachutes in 2000, Coldplay has been continually receiving full acclaim with their music. Aside from touring, performing and creating songs, the band also participates in several charities and non-profit organizations. Coldplay is most noted for donating 10 percent of their earnings to various charities, a selfless act they continue up to this day. Coldplay has also won countless citations from prestigious award-giving bodies, including 7 Grammy awards from 2002 to 2009. The band won Song of the Year and Best Rock Album for their 2008 record Viva la Vida.
Coldplay is currently on the process of recording their fifth studio album, with ambient music marvel Brian Eno on the producer's chair. A title for the album is yet to be announced. Front man Chris Martin is currently married to Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow with a daughter named Apple.
