In celebration of pop culture and cosplays, the children at heart are having a great time at the Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego.

The U.S. grand Comic-Con, otherwise known as the San Diego Comic-Con International (SDCC), is a four-day (Thursday-Sunday) multigenre event attended by a huge crowd of pop culture followers.

Fans of anime, superheroes as well as television and films are all gathered to see their favorite stars, directors and personal heroes up close. This is an annual event that fans look forward to with great jubilation. To some of them, this is better than Christmas and Halloween combined.

Fans come in plain clothes or costumes. Others spend a whole lot of time and money for their cosplay (costume play). Some of them keep it simple; they just go in their bikinis. (No rules, right?)

Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter are receiving Comic-Con photos from attendees of the beauty-and-brains event. Celebrities sitting at the panel (Michelle Williams and Mila Kunis for Oz), serious cosplays and candid celebrity moments are featured in the accompanying slideshow.
