Sesame Street has another hit on the Internet. The Sesame Street video featuring Cookie Monster auditioning for Saturday Night Live has reached a million views on the children show's YouTube channel.

In the video, Cookie Monster says he is auditioning to host the popular comedy show because he wants to "branch out beyond me cookie-eating career." The video which lasts just a second over four-minutes, shows Cookie Monster doing sketches ripped straight off from Saturday Night Live.

On the Sesame Street YouTube Channel, the people behind the children show said, "Cookie Monster wants to host Saturday Night Live and he needs your help! Click here to join the Facebook group and help Cookie Monster be the next host!"

The video entitled Cookie Monster Auditions for Saturday Night Live has received 1,135,155 so far with more than 11, 000 "like." At present, The Facebook page for the campaign has 103,938 users "liking it."

It is now likely that Cookie Monster will follow the 88-year old Hollywood actress Betty White, who hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live following an online campaign in the social networking Web site Facebook in favor of the actress.
