Cops Alarmed By Reports Of '7th Heaven' Star Stephen Collins Committing Suicide Following Child Molestation Confession
Stephen Collins may be in a hot seat now but, no, he did not commit suicide as someone in the news media, as well as a neighbor, wrongfully reported.
Following news of "7th Heaven" star Stephen Collins having molested young girls broke out, he was fired from "Ted 2" and resigned from his post at the National Board of the Screen Actors Guild. However, a disturbing report of him committing suicide emerged as well, prompting cops to swarm his house. Fortunately, this turns out to be a false alarm.
According to TMZ, the actor's house has been swarmed by LAPD officers after someone part of the media claimed to have heard a shot. The media has been staking out the 67-year old actor's house ever since the news of him confessing to sexually harassing and flashing young girls broke out.
One neighbor caught the swarming of police officers in a photo and posted this on her Twitter. The photo showed at least six LAPD units in the house's vicinity. The neighbor also tweeted that the actor killed himself.
Thankfully, TMZ has learned from sources directly connected to the renowned actor that he did not commit suicide. The sources said Collins was not at home when the shot was heard and they were communicating with the actor all night.
On Tuesday, TMZ posted an audio clip that the actor's therapist and ex-wife, Faye Grant, 57, secretly recorded of their therapy session where Collins allegedly confessed on his sexual crimes. On the tape, Collins allegedly confessed to molesting three minors, one of which is an 11-year old relative of his first wife.
Grant has denied having anything to do with the release of the said controversial video.
"I woke up today to learn that an extremely private recording I handed over to the authorities in 2012 per their request in connection with a criminal investigation was recently disseminated to the press," Grant stated. "I had no involvement whatsoever with the release of the tape to the media."
Based on court documents filed in November 2013 and obtained by People Magazine, Grant claimed that Collins has narcissistic and sociopathic tendencies.
Stephen Collins is best known for playing Eric Camden, the reverend and doting father of seven children in "7th Heaven," a show that many have grew up watching. Needless to say, fans are extremely bothered and shocked by the case.
