Like many of his fans, celebrities tweeted their disbelief when reports of Monteith's death surfaced. Kaley Cuoco, "The Big Bang Theory" actress tweeted, "Please tell me it's not true... #CoryMonteith no words. Prayers. Thoughts w his family. This is terrible. Can't speak." Tracie Thoms, who met the "Glee" actor on the set of the movie "McCanick," shared the same sentiment. She wrote, "I hope that was a twitter hoax. Please let it be a twitter hoax. I'll never retract a tweet more happily... Not a hoax. My thoughts are with his family & the #Glee family..."

Amidst all the shock, stories of Cory Monteith's talent and goodness spread through Twitter. Actors who have worked with, or even just briefly met the Canadian were quick to tweet their opinion of "Glee's" Finn. Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir had this to say about Monteith, "One of the kindest people in all Hollywood, RIP Cory. You made so many people believe in themselves, and with such warmth." Julianne Hough shared, "One of the kindest people I've ever met! My heart breaks for Cory's family and loved ones... You will be missed and forever loved Cory!" Matt Dallas's tweet echoed how much of Hollywood felt about the actor. He wrote, "So saddened to hear about Cory. One of the sweetest, most fun loving guys. Always remember his ability to make a person smile."

But not all of Hollywood remembers the "Glee" star without also touching on his troubled past. Monteith, who has been very forthcoming about his history with drugs, began his latest stint in rehab on March 30, completing it a month later. Tweets from Ryan Guzman and Christa B. Allen hint at the inevitable heartbreak that is caused by addiction. Ryan wrote, "RIP Cory Monteith. Sad to see another young person go because of addiction. Blessings go out to his family and friends," while the "Revenge actress tweeted, "my heart hurts for the friends and family of cory monteith. addiction is such a sorrowful battle. may his soul rest in peace. x"
