Cory Monteith rose to fame as a high school quarterback/singer Finn Hudson on the television show Glee.

However, after the tragic death of the actor last week, Gleeks have been questioning how the popular show will deal with the loss of the actor.

Speaking out for the first time since Monteith's body as found on July 13, the Glee co-producer Ryan Murphy told Deadline that production will start earlier than scheduled and the show will also feature a special tribute episode for Cory.

Murphy added that the quick return of the cast will help with the grieving process and that this decision was already approved by the cast and crew, including the real life girlfriend of Cory, Lea Michelle.

The cast and crew of Glee will also pay a special tribute to Cory by holding a memorial this week on the Paramount lot in Hollywood.

The show will start with two Beatles-themed shows already written- without Cory's character- before reaching the third episode where the characters will deal the death of Cory.

Murphy said that Michelle will serve as a 'creative barometer' for the tribute as it will be written with co-creators Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan.

After that the show will take a long break, to allow writers to create new story lines without one of the stars of the show.

Murphy commented that he doesn't exactly know when Glee will come back after that but 'we are trying out best with this attempt at damage control.'

Glee producers and FOX announced that the show's fifth season will premiere on September 26 rather than September 19 to give time for the show to deal with the loss.

The decision to return to set after just a month of Cory's death has drawn mixed reactions from Gleeks, Murphy acknowledged.

He is hoping that the fans would understand the decision of the cast and crew. He is also hoping that the show can be used to raise awareness of substance abuse among teens and young adults.
