Glee star Lea Michele has broken her silence after the tragic death of her boyfriend, Cory Monteith, saying that she is "deeply grateful" for all the support she has received.

The 26-year-old singer-actress had been dating her co-star for just over a year. She has been grieving with the 31-year-old actor's family since Cory's body was found in a hotel room in Vancouver.

A spokesperson for the actress told reporters: "Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she's received from family, friends, and fans."

"They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory's family."

Lea and Cory's family are now preparing for the funeral arrangements of the actor.

Darren Criss, who plays Blaine on Glee, attended the New York premiere of his film Girl Most Likely, wearing a black ribbon for Cory.

The British Columbia Coroners Service claims that Cory died from "mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol." Cory had just left rehab in April after voluntarily checking in for a month.

Police authorities said that there was evidence in the room that was consistent of a drug overdose.

Cory admitted to having problems in the past about substance abuse.

However, we all should take the advice of Robert Monteith, Cory's cousin, to remember the man that Cory was and not this chapter of his life.
