Cory Monteith's Ex-Girlfriend Says Cory Kept his Drug Addiction from Her
Cory Monteith hid his deadly drug addiction, even from the closest to him. According to Us Magazine, his ex-girlfriend, Mallory Matoush, said that Monteith was "just a happy guy" and that she did not see any sign of the addiction that would lead to his death.
Mallory said that Cory kept his drug addiction from her.
Cory told her all about his teenage days and his past problems but emphasized that he never used in front of her during the course of their relationship.
Mallory remembers Cory as someone silly and funny. She even said that Cory drinks alcohol but never to the point that the actor would become drunk.
Cory and Mallory met on June 2011. They dated for almost nine months.
Mallory recalled that Cory was a normal guy. He was not arrogant that he was a famous actor. She did not even know who Cory was. She fondly adds that she had to Google it because on her way out of the hotel, there were a lot of girls screaming his name. They asked her if she saw Cory Monteith inside the hotel and she was very confused.
The Canadian actor was found on Saturday in his hotel room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver.
Cory- who played Finn Hudson on the Glee series- had just completed a stint in rehab for substance addiction last April.
The news of his death was a surprise to everyone. Some netizens even said that it might be a hoax. But it was later confirmed by Vancouver Police at a press conference on Saturday night.
This morning, it has been confirmed that the actor died from a "mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol."
