‘Cosmopolis’ Director David Cronenberg on Working with Heartthrob Robert Pattinson
David Cronenberg, director of "Cosmopolis", raved about Hollywood actor Robert Pattinson's performance in the film according to Vogue Italia. He could not wait for the whole world to see Pattinson's epic acting skills in this film. The Twilight heartthrob is amazingly attractive but one of the most influential director in the movie industry said that the actor should also be known in the industry as an acting powerhouse.
David Cronenberg admits he initially pursued Rob for the lead role but got more than he bargained for. Robert Pattinson is an incredible addition to any cast but the director said that working with him was difficult. David, 68, said Rob's popularity made the heartthrob a liability on set according to the CBC reports.
"Actually the fame was a detriment," the "Cosmopolis" director said. "I mean, it's good for financing but it's not necessarily good when you're on the street and there are a lot of Twi-hards around. But I think people will be really surprised, I mean, I think he's a terrific actor and that's why I went after him," he further added.
"Rob is one of the most intense actors of this generation. He'll blow your mind," Cronenberg attests amidst working with Pattinson with a level of difficulty on the set. It mainly because of Pattinson's fame as the vampire Edward Cullen in "The Twilight Saga" with mostly female fans around trying to catch a glimpse of him wherever he goes.
