A big IF is now in the hanging if the 34-year-old British actress is the right person to be the next Bond girl.
Harris declared she is ready to be James Bond’s love interest or sex toy in the 23rd film series, as long as she keeps to keep her clothes on.
She strongly stated, “I didn't sign up to be a stripper”, explaining that it is the ‘objectification that she abhors in the idea of nudity in any film’.
"I'm very anti the pressure that is put on women to take their clothes off," Harris was quoted asserting to the Radio Times by The Sydney Morning Herald.
This is not the first time that the actress has been in the middle of the nakedness issue as she had demanded a double FOR a nudity scene from the 2006 film director for Miami Vice, Michael Mann.
The creators of the film series need to set that as consideration if they want Harris to be the next apple of the eyes of James Bond, played by Daniel Craig.
To prove her point, Harris drew attention to the character played by Eva Green in Casino Royale, whom she described as ‘scantily clad’ in the project.
Harris said: "(Former Bond girl) Eva Green's character in Casino Royale was not scantily clad. She was an intelligent, strong, modern woman.
The English actress has strongly dismissed the traditional role played by the Bond girls as she discussed what makes Bond films work through times and what makes her fit in any female role.
"What makes them (Bond movies) work is that they are responsive to the times," she said, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
"The older idea of the Bond movie is in the past. Now it appeals to all generations, ages and sexes."
Should the director and producers of the Bond series finally get her a part, Harris joins more than twenty women who have been James Bond’s girls through the years.
