Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow enjoys pushing herself as what she did in her latest performance in Country Strong. Paltrow, who won an Oscar for her turn in Shakespeare in Love, sings as well as act in the her latest movie.

"I love to push myself - singing was exhilarating. It's always good to scare and surprise yourself," said Paltrow in an interview with InStyle magazine where she appears on the cover for its January 2011 issue.

Country Strong tells the story of a rising songwriter, played by Garret Hedlund, and a fallen country music star, played onscreen by Gwyneth Paltrow. Together, they mount his ascent and her comeback. This leads to romantic complications involving her husband and manager played Tim McGraw and a beauty queen-turned-singer portrayed by Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester.

Gwyneth has been busy promoting the movie. She made her singing debut at the 2010 Country Music Awards in a bid to win critics and the country music industry for her upcoming film. Paltrow seemed to have succeeded, with critics adressing her performance with accolades. Country Strong will have a limited release on December 22nd.
