Couple Lived With Pets In A Faeces-Filled Home
A couple lived in faeces-filled home with a dozen of dogs and birds, a couple of cats and a snake, at Mason County, located in Washington in the US, reports kirotv.com. The Mason County deputies visited a house in the 100th block of E. Blackhawk Court, based on a call to the emergency number 911 by someone requesting a welfare check as the residents of the house did not answer to the doorbell of the expected guests.
On their visit at about 6 pm on Sunday, Feb 15, 2015, the deputies found an elderly couple in their late 60s lying in the house, badly in need of medical help. The house was reportedly looking extremely untidy that the authorities had to wear a hazmat suits to merely enter the house.
The ailing couple, Thomas and Judy Thornsberry, were then sent to the Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.
The couple bred and owned Pekingese purebred dogs, and also had tens of hundreds of members in their private Facebook group. Judy reportedly posted in their Facebook page that she was too sick to care for the dogs and can barely stand the toxic smell inside the house. The responders who turned up on the request found about 40 Pekingese puppies, few birds, couple of cats and a snake inside the house dwelling on their own faeces. Few dead dogs were also found in the house.
Animal control units from Mason, Thurston and Kitsap Counties were asked for assistance, and about 10 puppies and 6 birds were reported to be taken by the Thurston County animal unit. After tidying up the house, the rest of the puppies which were in good condition were left to live in the house by the deputies.
Judy is said to have posted in her Facebook page that she was trying for about 24 hours then to be up and care for the animals, but kept passing out, sweating and barely breathe.
