Couple News: Russell Crowe Splits from Wife Danielle Spencer after Nine Years of Marriage [PHOTOS]
"Gladiator" actor Russell Crowe and his wife, Danielle Spencer, have reportedly separated after staying married for nine years.
The Oscar-winning actor's demanding career is considered to be the reason of the couple's split. For the past year, Russell Crowe has always been apart from his family due to his hectic work schedule on his films "Man with the Iron Fist," "Les Miserables," "Broken City," "Man of Steel" and "Noah."
News.com reports the split between Russell Crowe and Danielle Spencer was good-natured. Currently, Crowe and Spencer's only concern is to protect their two kids, Charles and Tennyson, from the media scrutiny. Recently, the couple had just bought a $10 million-dollar worth of mansion in Rose Bay. The two boys will stay with their mother while Russell Crowe carries on with his busy filming schedules after the split.
"All that stuff has nothing to do with me as a person," Spencer said regarding her husband's fame and fortune.
Back in 1990, Russell Crowe and Danielle Spencer met on the set of the film "The Crossing." However, the two only had a serious relationship after Russell Crowe's break-up with actress Meg Ryan. It was then Russell Crowe realized that he needs Danielle Spencer in his life; so they got married at the actor's cattle farm near Coffs Harbour in April 2003. Danielle Spencer is believed to be the woman behind taming Russell Crowe's wild behavior and calming down his temper.
The news of Russell Crowe and Danielle Spencer's split came as a shock to a lot of people, especially those who are close to them.
