'Cowboy Ninja Viking' movie starring Chris Pratt delayed
Chris Pratt’s upcoming film “Cowboy Ninja Viking” has been delayed indefinitely. No reason has been given for the delay, but a new release date is expected to be announced soon, which means the project hasn’t exactly been shelved.
According to a report by ComingSoon, Universal Pictures has announced an indefinite delay in the film. The movie was original set to be released on June 28, 2019 in the US.
Sources have told Variety that the movie is still being developed. Universal Pictures reportedly delayed the film, rather than rushing it to meet the previously announced deadline. A new date will have to take into consideration the production schedule of not only the movie but also the cast members.
Apart from Pratt, the only other confirmed cast member of the movie is the “Quantico” star Priyanka Chopra. Chopra splits her time between Hollywood and Bollywood. The upcoming film will have to accommodate her busy schedule as well as that of Pratt’s, who is also busy with his commitments to other projects.
Michelle MacLaren will continue to be the director of “Cowboy Ninja Viking.” The screenplay has been written by Ryan Engle, Dan Mazeau and Craig Mazin.
MacLaren is an experienced director, and she has helmed some big names for the silver screen. Some of the TV shows that she has worked in are “Game of Thrones,” “The Walking Dead,” “Breaking Bad,” and “Better Call Saul.”
The plot of the film is based on the Image Comics graphic novel, written by AJ Lieberman and illustrated by Riley Rossmo. There hasn’t been any announcement about any changes in the script.
The movie is about a new kind of assassin played by Pratt. The assassin will embody the fighting styles of a cowboy, a ninja, and a Viking. Chopra will play the love interest of the protagonist. This will be an action adventure movie.
