R&B singer Craig David flew yesterday to Melbourne to promote his new album.

Signed Sealed Delivered is David's fifth studio album and first album with Universal Records. It reached number 13 on the UK charts upon its release in March 29, 2010.

The album consists of covers from the Motown era given a new twist.

David was part of the British garage scene during his younger years and has sold more than 13 million albums. According to the singer, his new record was a challenge because he had to cover songs by Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding and the Temptations.

''It's crash-and-burn territory, but I felt 10 years on, all the hits I've had, I know I can write a hit song. I don't need confirmation from anyone. And now I have the confidence to really sing these songs, to vocally challenge myself," he said.

Fill Me In and Insomnia are just some of the David's hit tracks.
