CBS' new sitcom "The Crazy Ones" is Robin Williams return to a T.V series after more than three decades of staying away from it. Williams' character Simon Roberts and his onscreen daughter Sydney, played by Sarah Michelle Gellar, run a Chicago based fictitious advertising agency, Roberts & Roberts.

Gellar states that her character Sydney is "Yin to her father's Yang." CBS DFW's "A Beginner's Guide to 'The Crazy Ones'," describes Sydney as "level-headed, focused, and has her hands full playing parent to her father."

According to CBS synopsis, "The Crazy Ones" is a single camera workplace comedy about a larger-than-life advertising genius (Simon Roberts) whose unorthodox methods and unpredictable behaviour would get him fired... if he weren't the boss."

The premiere episode of "The Crazy Ones" will feature singer Kelly Clarkson. In the pilot episode, the advertising agency, Roberts & Roberts, is on the verge of losing a major account 'McDonald' if it fails to deliver a great idea, upgrading a 1970s McDonald's jingle with a new voice . Simon and Zack Cropper (James Wolk) approach Kelly, who appears as herself, to convince her to sing the new McDonald jingle. However, there is a problem. Kelly wants to shed her old image and only want to sing about sex, now.

Williams told Parade that he returns to T.V because "the idea of having a steady job is appealing. There are bills to pay."

"The Crazy Ones" is "fun," the 62-year-old-actor told Parade. "I'm having such a blast doing it with Sarah. She's a sweet woman."

In the pilot episode, William's character can be seen boxing with a "life-sized Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robot," (which is Simon's idea of hiding from McDonald's representatives) "rapping in a fine dining restaurant," and reciting "rubber baby buggy bumpers" to a room full of important clients, according to CBS DFW.

Created by David E. Kelly, "The Crazy Ones" premieres on Thursday, September 26, 2013.
