Creative team behind 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' and others now working on 'Blade of Honor'
The creative team behind “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and many other popular Sci-fi TV shows is now working on a show titled “Blade of Honor.” The plot of the new series is set during a time of war between the human race and the animal race. The producers have released the first trailer and posters of the show.
People who have worked on successful TV shows like “BattleStar Galactica,” “Heroes,” “Star Trek: Voyager,” “Star Trek Deep Space Nine,” “Star Trek: New Voyages,” “Star Trek: Renegades,” “5th Passenger,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N.,” “Axanar,” “Star Trek - Horizon,” “Nobility,” “Star Trek: Continues,” “Cowboys & Engines,” “Star Trek: Hidden Frontier,” and many others are coming together for a new web series, the producers announced in a press release.
“’Blade of Honor’ is a synthesis of the best parts of our favorite sci-fi productions and themes in a rich universe of intrigue and wonder whose landscape is wrought with war and the very survival of humanity,” the press release states.
The cast members of the show include Tim Russ (Yuni), Richard Hatch (Admiral DiCarrek), Auson Haislip (Arina Kartades), Jasmine Waltz (H.A.V.I.), James Kyson (John ‘Hoss’ O’Tekjac), Cirroc Lofton (Cage Drumel), Aron Eisenberg (Raejin Tektonopolis), Rivkah Raven Wood (Caitlyn Wood), Brandon Stacy (Terry Lindon), Jodie Bentley (Spot Check) and Ryan T. Husk (Jev Taurel). Mark Edward Lewis is the writer-producer of the show. The other prominent people of the project are Steven Stone, Ryan T. Husk, Clayton Turnage and Jennifer Nash.
“’Blade of Honor’ fixes on Arina Kartades (Haislip), a religious, headstrong, crack Alliance Navy Star Blade pilot in a war where the human Alliance is losing against the animal race, the Calinar. When Kartades discovers that her Statemandated religious upbringing was a lie, she embarks upon a forced quest to discover the true reasons behind the war. As her discoveries push her deeper into harm’s way, she must go against everything she believes in to fight a cloak and dagger rebellion and expose the galactic elite, the religious masters, and protect the ones she loves from the clutches of her own superiors and the combined military might of the Alliance and Calinar,” the press release states.
The team said that they have “big plans” for the new TV series. The producers need at least $30,000 (AU $41700) to film the first episode and have started a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds needed. The team has already managed to get most of the funding they need to get started.
The producers, however, hope to get enough funds to film more than just the first episode. “We need at least five episodes to tell this first story, this first mini-season. Because of that, we've got our sights set on some stretch goals as well,” the team said.
