'Criminal Minds' season 12 episode 15 spoilers: Reid ends up behind bars; BAU takes on a new case with a strange suspect in ‘Alpha Male’

It looks like there will be bad news again in this upcoming episode of “Criminal Minds.” Dr Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) might not be coming out of prison soon. Spoilers reveal that he is about to get transferred to the American Prison and people from inside will not exactly be friendly and welcoming to him. In the meantime, BAU will be taking on another case where the suspect employs means that they have not seen before.

In the previous episode, the evidence against Spencer Reid continued to accumulate and work against him. This included a knife with his fingerprints. Fans can expect more trouble ahead. Simultaneously, the team looked into a series of car collisions, which they later find out was all caused by an expert hacker. From one tough case, the team moves on to another equally challenging one in this next episode, titled “Alpha Male.”
The official synopsis for season 12 episode 15 provides that Reid would have to settle with his new surroundings. It turns out that it would be the American prison and it looks like he would be staying there for a long time.
The YouTube promo for “Alpha Male” reveals that Reid will be transferred to a new facility. Other inmates look happy as they welcome him in and it seems they already have plans for their latest boarder. At first, they approach him as if they are going to beat him up, like a welcoming ritual for a newcomer, but an inmate tells him that he has to learn how to survive.
In the meantime, the BAU is on another queer case. The synopsis reveals that they have a new target who happens to be a criminal who scars the victims by throwing acid at them. The unsub targets young men and women.
In other news, ratings for the show have continued to drop for this season. From an average of 9.01 million viewers and 2.15 million demos in season 11, viewership has significantly gone down to an average of 7.62 million viewers and 1.43 million in the demo. Fans hope that Spencer Reid’s new troubling story arc will help resurrect the show’s dwindling numbers.
