When the finale part 1 of Criminal Minds Season 9 ended, two agents were shot: Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) and Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) after having been caught in the crossfire with the unsub.

Already, fans are wondering who will come out relatively unscathed and who may be fatally injured--and may possible say "goodbye" forever!--so Erica Messer comes in to provide a few spoilers to cushion the possible blow once the Criminal Minds finale part 2 season ender debuts.

In an interview with TV Guide, it was revealed that Reid had survived the gunshot to the neck, but as seen in the promo below, he is still in the hospital, only to find himself staring at the barrel of a gun.

"No one is safe. This [episode] has that urgency to it and that you can really trust no one, and you feel that," said Messer to TV Guide. "Things aren't as they seem in this small town. There's a bigger conspiracy at play and they don't know what that is at first. There's a big cover-up. There's a constant threat to our team because what they will uncover is a pretty big deal and their lives are in serious jeopardy."

As if to give more weight to how different this Criminal Minds Season 9 finale part 2 ender will be, the BAU team will experience more "heroic moments" to quote Messer. Again, in the promo for Criminal Minds Season 9 finale part 2, you see Penelope Garcia (Kristin Vangness) holding a gun looking like she's about to save Reid, David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) and Alex Blake (Jeanne Tripplehorn) will actually go a bit personal on their own pasts, and of course, there's that BAU agent who will be the main focus, with dibs on it being Reid.

On the Criminal Minds Season 9 Finale Part 2: Expectations?

Another interview, this time with A.J. Cook who plays Agent Jennifer Jareau on Criminal Minds, she talks about what will be happening for the season ender episode with Buddy TV.

It's fairly established that Reid will be facing more danger beyond his gunshot wound, but it seems that the very daunting and foreboding teaser seen above, with the words, "You won't believe which profiler will say goodbye forever" is not a joke fans should take lightly.

"You'll have to tune in, but the last two minutes, you're going to be slack-jawed. Yeah, we're going into season 10... It's going to affect everything. It'll affect everything."

Renewal for the 10th Season Already Up

The renewal for the 10th season of Criminal Minds has long been known. It was already reported to renew for a 10th season since March, reports CBS, and this was announced alongside 18 other primetime shows that are looking at renewals as well.

Given the few clues as to how the Criminal Minds Season 9 finale part 2 will end, even the teasers that the Criminal Minds official Facebook is very focused on Reid. "Will the BAU lose a beloved team member?" captions a photo of Reid.

It would be a very interesting plot twist, but one that fans may not want to deal with even though Criminal Minds is already entering its 10th season. Fans are at the edge of their seat, with some even commenting that they would stop watching if Reid dies. Gubler not only plays the role of Reid but has also served as a director for some of the more macabre and horror-inclined episodes of Criminal Minds.

Criminal Minds Season 9 will be ending with a bang, so check out for updates and a recap of the season ender right here after it's aired.
