Cristiano Ronaldo Pays for a Sick 10-Month-Old Baby’s Brain Operation
Cristiano Ronaldo has pledged to pay for all the expenses of a 10-month-old baby's brain operation. This is just one of the few known facts where Ronaldo has displayed his kindness and generosity.
Ten-month-old Erik Ortiz Cruz is reportedly suffering from cortical dysplasia, according to Futbol.as. Cortical dysplasia is one of the most common causes of epilepsy. It is a congenital disorder that affects the brain that causes up to 30 seizures a day. Erik's family has been trying all their means to collect money for his brain operation worth £60,000. To make things even harder for the toddler's family, Erik would be needing £6,000 for each test, which has to be carried out for a long time after the brain operation.
Ronaldo has also donated a signed shirt and some shoes for auction in an effort to help Erik's family raise more money.
In January, Ronaldo had also done an act of kindness for a Real Madrid fan who was diagnosed with cancer in September, Yahoo Sports reported. When Ronaldo heard about the fan's condition, who had apparently copied his trademark haircut before he lost all his hair due to chemotherapy, the 28-year-old Portuguese superstar sent a signed photo to his ailing fan. Ronaldo even called the fan and invited him to watch his game live, and it wasn't just a simple invitation because the fan was given a complete VIP treatment.
