"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" Season 15, episode 4 "The Book of Shadows" was written by Gavin Harris and directed by Brad Tanenbaum. Here's what happened in "The Book of Shadows." The "CSI Las Vegas" team led by D.B. Russell suspected that there was some foul play involved in their latest case about a science experiment and a Chemistry teacher named Chet Messner (Mark Chadwick).

Russell, Nick and Det. Kevin Crawford all went inside Chet Messner's home to check out his house and see if they can figure out what really happened. The team believed that Messner could have been murdered by one of his students who used cyanide to kill him.

As the title of this episode suggests, the team found a "Book of Shadows." According to the official "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" website, it is a book that was first created in the late 1940s and it contains Wiccan spells and rituals.

This "Book of Shadows" proved that Messner was part of a secret coven of Wiccans who are actively practicing witchcraft. He was using his lab for some hocus pocus of his own. Unfortunately, he was kicked out of the coven for being a blabbermouth. He ended up selling drugs to his students.

It turns out Messner wasn't the intended victim. It was Turk, one of his students. The perpetrator was the earth science teacher, a fellow coven member who had a son afflicted with cancer. Turk's blood was used to try and save the sick son. Unfortunately, the spell wasn't successful.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" Season 15, episode 4 "The Book of Shadows" featured Bella Thorne (Hannah Hunt), Nathan Gamble (Mason Brewer), Marissa Jaret Winokur (Principal Dawn Meadows), Alimi Ballard (Det. Kevin Crawford) and Larry M. Mitchell (Officer Mitchell).
