A recent case of cyber bullying provoked a Nova Scotia teenage girl to commit suicide. The police have already arrested two 18-year-old men who were charged for the production and the distribution of child pornography.

Cyber bullying has been a growing trend which may include harassment due to malicious online messages, uploading upsetting videos or images on Web sites and hacking someone's profile on a social network.

Be aware of the activities your children do on the net. Additionally, establish certain rules on how they are going to use their computers and phones. When your children's activities are limited online, the chances of being a victim of cyber bullying are going to be minimised.

If your child has a social networking profile, you should have one also. When you have a profile on the Web site, you should follow your child to keep updated on the things they say or do online. Make them aware of cyber bullying, how to be protected and their rights as well.

Convince your child to share every message they receive so that you may help them in a more mature way. If there is any bully on a social network, block them and report against them to the Web site authorities. Most of the popular social networks like Facebook have strict policies against cyber bullying. To support your complaint, you must keep a track of the offensive e-mails or messages.
