Czech President Milos Zeman's 'Drunk' Video Goes Viral (VIDEO)
A Youtube video showing a shaky, stumbling and visibly off-course Czech President Milos Zeman has gone viral, sparking a barrage of hilarious jokes as well as embarrassing comments from viewers.
The video was shot during an official event held at the Prague Castle's St Vitus Cathedral.in Czech Republic.
In the video, the new president is seen taking wobbly steps coming out and then almost got off-balanced as he leaned on the wall. Later, he is seen struggling to keep his eyes open as the ceremonies went on.
During viewing of the Czech crown jewels that were on display, he kept holding on to the table and then had to be assisted by a cardinal going down the steps.
The Czech president has already denied that he was drunk during the said official event. He is adamant he was just suffering a virus and just needed a day of rest.
Mr. Zeman is known to be a heavy smoker and drinker. He was also once quoted to have praised Winston Churchill who has a particular liking for whiskey.
Comments from Youtube viewers were a mix of both amusement and embarrassment. One viewer even posted a picture of himself getting drunk and put the slogan "Here I am getting a virus."
This is not the first time that a Czech president has been under scrutiny in the social media. In 2011, former president Vaclay Klaus was also shown playing up a pen in a news conference in Chile.
Then president Mr. Klaus was in a casual talk with Chile head Sebastian Pinera when he was shot opening a pen case, scrutinising it and then secretly putting it in his pocket.
The video was posted in Youtube and earned almost 600,000 views and an amusing campaign in Facebook.
